40 years ago, we were in 7th grade at Presidio Middle School. Sorry, we don't have any photos from then. On fog-free days, we had views of the Golden Gate Bridge.

As a peninsula, San Francisco had water on three of its four sides. That made Genesis' "Home By The Sea" fitting. My classmates looked at each other, and understood that this deep album cut, as much as we loved it, was not going to be a hit.

My wife attended Francisco Middle School. By being in the northeast corner of San Francisco, the fog usually did not reach here, until well after students had left. Nevertheless, "Home By The Sea" makes her feel like she's back in The City.
