Earlier this year, I was in Nashville for a conference. To go out for dinner, I swung by my coworker's room. While she was getting ready, some music channel played Ace Frehley's instrumental, "Fractured Mirror." Man, I don't think I had heard that, since I was in college in the early-90s.

"Fractured Mirror" originally came out in 1978, 45 years ago. Because neighbors had the Ace Frehley solo album, I heard "Fractured Mirror," which didn't sound like anything else I had heard.

What I do know is that the neighborhood kids put to rest, the stuperstition, that breaking a mirror gives you 7 years of bad luck. One boy frowned, "What does a mirror have to do with luck?"

Another boy said, "If it breaks, it breaks. Clean it up, and get a new one."
