Like many of our friends, my wife (above, getting the gray hair dye, and complaining that they didn't take up the length, leaving all those split ends) was born in 1973. That's also when Elton John came out with the proggy "Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding." which means it is - gulp -50 years-old.
When we were kids, we occasionally heard "Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding." We figured that it was just too long, for radio airplay. With so many other EJ songs on the radio, the shrewd DJ plays "Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding" instead.
When we've been to EJ concerts, he did perform "Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding," which actually works better in those arenas, than his slow songs.
