20 years ago, the engagements and weddings kept coming, left and right. While we were happy for the couples, the latter moved out of San Francisco.

We knew we as a large group would no longer get together. Liz Phair's "Why Can't I?" sort of marked the end of this era, and did give us some sort of "enjoyable normalcy."

The video for "Why Can't I?" featured a CD jukebox. The thing was, in 2003, hardly anyone was buying physical media. With everyone moving into small quarters, there wasn't room for physical media. Indeed, here in 2023, people do not actually own Liz Phair's eponymous album, which includes "Why Can't I?"
