Chris de Burgh, "Missing You"

When we were in high school in the late-80s, most of us liked Chris de Burgh's "The Lady In Red."

My friend Briana would go to Mexico, the Caribbean, and the South Pacific. During the Fall 1988 semester, she said she liked de Burgh's "Missing You," which we probably only heard or saw via VH1.

About "The Lady In Red," Briana then remarked, "You know what? It makes 1/4 okay with wearing a red dress, and the other 3/4 are okay with letting the 1/4 wear red."

To this day, old friends like Briana complain that, due to lowest common denominator marketing, the media play the same pop songs over and over again. Briana appreciates mainstream artists' more obscure material, such as de Burgh's "Missing You." And that, of course, puts her right in line with audiophiles.
