35 years ago, we were in high school. Since we came from various parts of San Francisco, and had to commute to school, our parents were okay with us using our Youth Pass, and "playing tourist." There were times we'd stop, put down our bookbags, and break out the Walkmen or boomboxes. Tiffany's "All This Time" seemed to freeze the moment. But, as responsible kids, we had to disperse, to go back to our respective homes.
At night, you'd be in your room, gaze out the window, and sadly sing Tiffany's "All This Time." I don't know about your locale, but here in the Bay Area, radio stations hardly ever play "All This Time." But when they do, it's as if the intervening 35 years have temporarily been suspended, and it's Fall 1988 all over again.
