35 years ago, Jason Newstead was in Metallica. His old band, Flotsam And Jetsam, hired Troy Gregory, who would later join Prong. F&J had a new album, No Place For Disgrace. One of my friends had it on cassette, which was played via boombox, when we went out to play team sports.

We played football, basketball, and softball, and spent the most time on the latter. We liked listening to the dynamic "Escape From Within," while we were up to bat. Because of the stop-start nature of softball, that sport made us the most stiff and sore.

Here was the problem. Our girls were top-notch students. So even though our school had 2,600 students, the teachers knew our girls. And when our girls showed up all stiff, bruised, and sore to Monday classes, the teachers were alarmed. Even if our girls had admitted that they thrashed around to the likes of F&J's "Escape From Within," the teachers would not have believed them.
