Oh hell yeah! 30 years ago, Onyx's "Slam" made crowds want to slam dance. When we were at San Francisco's BART stations, such as Powell, we wondered it'd be like, for the masses to slam dance.
You could get off at Powell Street station, in order to go to Union Square, and onward to Ultimate Sound, whose target market was entry-level high-end audio. Until the end of 1993, Ultimate Sound was located in the "dungeon" basement of the Sherman Clay Building, on Kearny near Sutter. At the start of 1994, Ultimate Sound moved to 41 Grant, which was even closer to Powell Street station.
In 1993-94, I worked at Everett Middle School, where many of the students liked to jump up and down, to Onyx's "Slam." It'd be a very good thing, if audiophiles would shake off the rust, and jump up and down to "Slam."
