30 years ago, I joined the full-season leagues, at Japantown Bowl. Most of the bowlers were guys, but they did have female friends. Some of the girls would write or draw on their own arms. We loved it, when staff allowed us to go behind the front desk, and play music. New Order's "Liar" turned our lanes (the alley had two floors, but our daytime leagues were downstairs, and did NOT take up all of the lanes) into a discotheque.

I would then share "Liar" with audiophiles, who (a) weren't "allowed" to like it, but (b) secretly did :-)
