30 years ago, my ex-girlfriend KJ was a month into her junior year at UC Berkeley. So I took BART over to Oakland, and met her there.

KJ was partly inspired by TLC's "Get It Up," which, at least for us, just sounded great, when we were in Oakland.

"Get It Up" was actually a cover of The Time, who had, in the early-80s, worked with Prince. The TLC version isn't played by commercial radio stations. However, if you listen to Black or R&B stations, you'll occasionally hear it.
