In October 1992, we were enjoying Indian Summer. And then Madonna came out with a new album, Erotica. There was a song called "Rain." And then, we had our First Rain. We did not know that those rains were the beginning of an above-average season, which stanched a 6.5-year drought. Rain or no rain, we still liked to go on hikes, and Madonna's "Rain" did make those hikes even better.

Summer 1993 was hot and dry. As kids were going back to school, Madonna actually came out with a video for "Rain." The thing was, MTV and VH1 were starting to pull back on music videos, in lieu of reality shows. Thus, despite Madonna being a superstar, her "Rain" did not, and still does not, get much airplay.
