My friends recently visited Oahu, and went to Matsumoto Shave Ice. And that reminded me that, at the end of summer 1988, when I was still in Honolulu, I heard, for the very first time, Icehouse's "My Obsession." Well, actually, MTV played the music video. I do not recall hearing "My Obsession" on commercial radio.

I have, however, heard "My Obsession" via internet radio. Smart. This is a deep cut, which, as an audiophile, you seek and play.

Oh, and Matsumoto Shave Ice is indeed overrated. Just stay in town, and go to Waiola Shave Ice.
