Ten years ago, New York's popbar made it to Anaheim, where it continues to be highly popular today. On a trip to SoCal, we learned about Boz Scagg's beautiful rendition of "Corrina, Corrina."

At the time, my friend's younger cousin was attending UC Irvine. She got a purple hair-dye.

Back home in San Francisco, where Boz Scaggs still hangs out, my friend (left, at Ocean Beach), remarked that Scaggs "seems under the radar," and wished that "we had a popbar."

Well, today, Scaggs doesn't seem to mind keeping a low profile. So you have to seek out little-known remakes, such as "Corrina, Corrina." And a popbar has opened a Bay Area store, way out in Concord. While my friend gets her hair dyed, to mask the whites and grays, audiophiles complain that, with bald heads, hair coloring is a moot point :-)
