30 years ago, I had graduated from college, and moved back home to San Francisco. I bowled league at Japantown Bowl. Amongst us bowlers, O.M.D.'s new "Everyday" was a hit.
I was then asked if I wanted to participate in tournaments, practices, and "travel league" at other alleys. One option was to go in a van, with other bowlers. But since some of my friends were home for the summer, we used my not-at-Japantown bowling events as an excuse to go on weekend getaways.
San Francisco and the coast could be foggy. But as soon as we got away from the coast, it was hot! Being in long sleeves and sweats was ridiculous. But hey, "Everyday" put us in a good mood. We'd stop, change into lighter clothing, and proceed.
By now, O.M.D. was really a vehicle for solo Andy McClusky. His one collaboration with former bandmate, Paul Humphreys, "Everyday," was arguably Liberator's best track. It certainly was a favorite of ours. 30 years later, it remains a favorite of my wife's.
