Ah, mother/daughter time. My old friend (right) seems to have passed some of her clothes to her teenaged daughter. One thing my core friends did not do in and around San Francisco was fishing. The waters were perceived to be polluted, so if you did catch anything, we thought it'd be toxic.
We did not have to "pass" music to our offspring. The latter grew up with the internet, which made music readily available.
We recently met up in San Francisco's Chinatown, where some of us, including my wife, used to live. There's a Royal Tea inside of Ohana Poke Bar on Kearny, just a few blocks north of where Ultimate Sound used to be. Later, when Ultimate Sound moved to Grant, we would bring Stryper CDs with us.
Anyway, my old friends reminisced about how the music brought us together, and strengthened our bonds. We loved Stryper's "The World Of You And I," something you just didn't and still don't hear anywhere. And of course, my friends being nerd girls, they pointed out that "The World Of You And I" was grammatically incorrect.
