Ah, Lake Merced. Our high school was (and still is!) located across the street from one corner of Lake Merced. It's also why we wanted our mascot to be the Loch Monster.

In summer of 1988, when Lake Merced was shrouded in fog, my core friends talked about the music. And when it came to Scritti Politti's new slow song, "Oh Patti," we (a) longed for their more uptempo numbers, and (b) realized that we did not have anyone named Patti (or its derivatives).
