Yes, we did have a few guy friends. Upper left in the purple bracelet was Wayman, who, when we played softball/baseball, was our left fielder and leadoff hitter. While this photo was taken, our other guy friends were on the field.
Summer 1988 was in full swing, and we had plenty of time to get together, and play sports. We always had a boombox. The girls really liked adult contemporary. And it was that music, which initially brought everyone together. We loved Hall & Oates' "Everything Your Heart Desires." Of course, our opponents, who already were talking smack, further mocked us, for liking music like this.
But no one cares about our opponents. Bay Area radio stations didn't really play "Everything Your Heart Desires," and they still don't. But when my old friends hear it, they perk up. No, I did not know my future wife, in summer of 1988. But "Everything Your Heart Desires" is still one of her Hall & Oates favorites.
