Donald Fagen, "Springtime"




Late in the Spring 1993 quarter, Donald Fagen seemingly came back from the dead, with a new solo album, Kamakiriad. We hadn't heard from him since 1982's The Nightfly.

But ah, on Sunday, June 20, 1993, which was Fathers Day, I had to graduate from UC Santa Cruz. It took palace at the Quarry Amphitheater.



Back at my college apartment, I broke down the stereo, and Fagen's "Springtime" was among the last songs heard. So as my parents and uncle helped me move out, "Springtime" represented the end of college, and the venture into summer and the great unknown...
