30 years ago, I went out with CC2 one last time, to the Santa Cruz Bech Boardwalk. Before, during, and after, she was grooving to Terence Trent D'Arby's (who later changed his name to Sananda Maitreya) "She Kissed Me."

Sadly, CC2 said that, after graduation, she was going to visit her sister at UC San Diego, and then move back home to China.

In preparing for graduation, I had to make a quick trip home to San Francisco. When I came back, CC2 had left a hand-written note, in her broken English, that she loved me. So I buried my sorrows in the June/July 1993 issue of The Absolute Sound.

Perhaps buried in the grunge and hip hop era, D'Arby's "She Kissed Me" is kind of forgotten. But not by me; it reminds me of CC2 :-)
