Inner Circle's "Bad Boys" originally came out in Fall 1987. But when it was used as the theme song for the show, "COPS," its popularity took off. In summer 1993, it actually peaked at #8.

My friend above had an uncle who was a beat cop. He just shook his head that law enforcement comes down on mugging, traffic violations, and parking, but if a white-collar crime steals or defrauds thousands of dollars, nothing is done.
