Years ago I saw a video where someone cleaned an old Dyna St-70 in a dish washer. He claimed no harm so long as everything was dried out well afterward. It did look pretty good when finished.
That seemed crazy to me but I don't know enough about electronics to be certain.
I use a clean dry paint brush.
