I worked for a company that used PTFE jacketed wire in 12 to 18 gauge. None of the automatic type strippers worked on it as the insulation was to slippery for it to grab. PTFE wire is more expensive than FEP but has better ratings for how it was used in our products.
The quality of connections was critical so stripping wire without nicks was important. Generally we used good quality hand strippers from Klein or Ideal and replaced them frequently when they started to dull. Having a sharp cutting edge is important.
