The correct direction of cables is unrelated to polarity. Polarity has to do with cables being attached incorrectly (reversed) at the speaker or amp terminals + and -. Inverse Polarity can also be caused by something other than cables, for example speaker is wired incorrectly or polarity inversion of some electronics. The correct direction for cables or fuses - if they don't have arrows on them - is determined by listening both ways. To test for system absolute polarity you need a test test with that track on it.
