The correct direction of cables is unrelated to polarity. Polarity has to do with cables being attached incorrectly at the speaker or amp terminals. Inverse Polarity can also be caused by something other than cables, for example speaker misfired or polarity inversion of some electronics. The correct direction for cables or fuses - if they don't have arrows on them - is determined by listening both ways.
