RE: REVIEW: Nagaoka MP 110 Phono Cartridge

I also have used the Nagaoka MP110 and Ortofon 520 (similar to the Blue, though a little less bright).

While using these carts on my Wega/Sony TT with a middle heavy to heavy arm I did really love the Nagaoka MP110. Everything sounded very groovy.

The Ortofon 520 had more detail and sounded a little more analytical, and therefore stayed off my TT for most of the time.

Now I have a Thorens 147 with the TP63 arm, which is a low mass arm.
In the Thorens the Ortofon is by far the better sounding cart, gone is the analytical sound. The Nagaoka just doesn't sound right in the TP63, so matching the right cart to your arm is also very important. Probably need to experiment with adding some mass to my TP63. I really loved that MP110 while being in my Wega/Sony.
