a transformer, the type covered and on the ground, was right by our front room. It was noisy and I didn't know where the noise came from at first. Then when outside and discovered it was coming from the transformer and it buzzed and caused noise inside the house. I called the electric company and they came out and said it was working correctly and I said I don't care, it is loud and you can hear it in the front room. They came in the house and agreed. About a week later they came out, installed a new transformer. The sound improved for my system, the new transformer was quiet and and all worked out well.
