So why bother with DTS, you could get ambience with a matrix surround processor. It's a waste of good channels to me. As I said, a concert hall isn't the only way to hear music, It's not even the best way. The only reason you sit with the band in front of you, is because that is the most convienent way for the band to play to a crowd. It has absolutely nothing to do with sonic excellence. You're lucky if it's even in stereo. The acoustics are usually bad, and the sound setup is usually not very good, having been designed for brute force, not fidelity. The Eagles is an excellent disc. Not as agressive as I like on the surrounds, but good. However, it isn't audiophiles or quadraphiles for that matter that drive market acceptance. It's Joe sixpack and his modest stereo that he thinks is OK. With quad, he couldn't hear that it was better. With DVD Audio multichannel, he will.Quadfather
