I bought them for my home office for background listening a few months back. I would emphasize that they took a good 50/60 hours of play to break-in properly. It was good out of the box but an order of magnitude better after break-in. How am I so sure? I bought a second pair just for the heck of it and the difference was apparent when the new pair went in. They have been in my main system for a while now and I don't feel any urgency to replace them. Are they giant killers? That depends on the size of the giants. A pair of Vienna Acoustic Haydens were in their place earlier and I'm much happier with the Pioneers.
