Actually I did a quick check of the Stereophile web site and only found a few players which invert polarity. Most didn't. I'll put my faith in John Atkinson over you any day given your hyperbole here.
I claim (without verification, so prove me wrong :) that my Sony players don't invert, nor do my Denon, my Perp Tech or my EMM Labs.
