The only recent digital-input-only amp that I can think of is Peachtree's first attempt with their GaN 1. Any amp with only a digital input is extremely limiting as I'm sure the OP has figured out by now.Aside from needing an A/D converter he will need a way to control the volume level without an App or computer unless his Phono Preamp has variable output.
-- Does the Tascam have a remote that will easily control Volume Level in realtime so the digital output isn't at a fixed level? I say 'realtime' because in normal use you wouldn't just set and forget the level as though you were recording. You'll want to adjust it on the fly as the music is playing.
