Which $500 DAC to go with Node 2?

Hi, All-

I've been loving my Bluesound Node 2 for the last couple of weeks, but the interwebs consensus is that an outboard DAC can improve the sound quality greatly.

How much do I have to spend to get a solid upgrade? Is $500 a reasonable budget? Any suggestions?
