For me last fall, that fit all my needs in one device, although I already had a Lampizator lite 7 dht set 32/356 PCM and dsd 256 dac. Also known as SACD.
Par suggested the Innuous line of servers,whom I'd never heard of, and it fit beautifully . It streams spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, internet radio,etc. it's roon ready or use it as a Roon core server and has front slot loading for burning my CD collection to the 2 terabyte hard-drive. The interface is so intuitive any novice can utilize it without hesitation. I went with the Zenith mk3 and chose a silver faceplate with 2 terabytes. I also got 2 runs of Revelation audio labs prophecy cryo silver Ethernet cat 8 cabling, yeah, Brad came through for me, Wireworlds silver platinum starlight USB, and for the rca out's on my Lampizator lite 7 dac the Transparent Reference XL RCA interconnects which are VEERRRY expensive,but what a sound coming from this combination!
I can say if you go the server/dac route you add flexibility, along with interchangeability in a very fast moving and changing format, as well as quality sound. Innuous has servers starting around 700 us dollars, you get more as you go up from there.
Very happy with this purchase, it downloads all my metadata flawlessly and using either my Android phone with orangesqueeze app remote function or my tablet, both look and work terrific!
The sound reproduction ability of this pairing is really playing on another level!
