A PC is a personal computer which means it isn't optimised for CD playback.

I've no doubt there are SOME advantages, but there are other very knowledgeable people who think there are even more serious disadvantages.

All I know is that I've heard superb replay from CD using conventional transport/DAC combinations and have never heard anything but very good replay using PCs or hard-drives.

If people are prepared to put up with 'very good' replay then PCs are fine, but IMO they don't cut the mustard when compared to the better CD players or transport/DAC combos.
