I have heard the Orpheus Labs Zero player and it is certainly a very high-end product. The sound is definitely accurate, extremely clear, very detailed but with no listener fatigue at all, good but not outstanding bass, exemplary soundstage, and very natural balance- timbre of instruments easily picked up and nothing sounding artificial. I have also heard the Orpheus Labs transport and dac which is even better than the single box player. I have not heard the Mimetism player but I am sure that if you don't mind a two box solution, picking up an older Orpheus Labs combo for a reasonable price may actually step it up and challenge this Mimetism player. The new Orpheus Labs products are even better but alas the price has gone up considerably.BTW, I have the older Orpheus Labs ONE Dac in combination with the Audio Note CDT-2. I have made a number of comparisons with all kinds of machines and combinations. Currently this combo edges out the Esoteric DV-50 and comes to about 90% of the performance of the X-01 Limited.
