Re: So if I only buy 1, do I get the DEQ or SRC?

Hi,

I do not own both the SRC and the DEQ, only the DEQ. The DEQ's value is in its room correction capabilities, but it does not do any upsampling. Sendler, who posts on this board quite a bit, has mentioned that the AD converters in the SRC sound better than those of the DEQ, although I do not recall what he mentioned about the DAC in the unit. The SRC also performs upsampling so it may be the better choice if not using room correction.

Both units would require XLR to RCA adapters which can be found at Guitar Center or online.

If you are looking for pure DAC musicality you might consider some of the other suggestions people have mentioned. Otherwise, since the SRC is half the cost of the DEQ and you are not interested in room correction, it would seem to be the more reasonable choice.
