I have and I've used Lexus, AN-V and AN-Vx between my CD player (Arcam CD92) and pre-amp. I've used them with my recently assembled Audio Note Kit DAC 2.1.Lexus of in itself is a very nice IC and I think it is really an excellent value. Competitive with many other IC in the $300-500 range that I've heard (depends on your preference and system, of course.)
With AN-V in my system, compared with Lexus, it seems to give an impression on narrower frequency range (less on freq. extremes both top and bottom) but mid-range becomes very natual, more palatable, bit more full bodied (analog like.) Makes a great difference on reproducing vocal and many string instruments such as cello and violin. Presonally, I prefer AN-V over Lexus and I also think it is a great value. AN-V is what made me fan of Audio Note.
With AN-Vx in my system, compared with AN-V, it seems retain all the good character of AN-V and adds the frequncy extremes. Much better base and better sense of "air." However, if you have a bright sounding system or if your room is bit boomy, then it may make it worse. Otherwise, it is a clear upgrade from AN-V. IMHO, with given the price of AN-Vx, the balance between the cable and the rest of the system would become more important.
