Hi,
I too have ordered one so I can report later (I plan on doing a full review so stay tuned). I asked about the 1704 and they told me that the PCM 63 was more suitable for use with tubes because it has a higher current output than the 1704 and therefore the working voltage feeding the tubes is higher, which is better for the tubes noise floor. So in practice they felt it was better to stay with the PCM 63 rather than their upgrade.I currently have the Monarchy 22Bse and I liked it so much that I have had it for 8 years. I decided only to upgrade to another Monarchy because I think their designs simply make sense for redbook cd.
