Very cool, that your diving in,, it really is the only way to stay in the game @ a high level. I am NOT foraml trained in anything electronic. I just study, study, study.... & try to see thru any BS.. & lots of that in this hobby. But really the bypass is much easier than doing part changes in the output, especially if your doing op-amo sockets & such.. Experience with solder & solder gun plays big on small part mod, any for that matter..easy to burn sh........up for sure..Don't touch the chips on the PCB with out touching a chassis ground first. The 193L thing & Auricap tweak is also very, very easy, & well worth it on any digital component. Some people run the 193L by itself, & then some run it with the Auricaps, I prefer it with Auri's installed as normal. Your going to have alot of fun for sure. Let us know how it sounds after you get thru.....
