Cary 303/300 - Telefunken ECC802S - impressions

Just a quick post - mostly to warn Jay Buridan. I finally got a pair of the ECC802S. I understand what some here have said about its soundstage quality. Whilst they do have the best soundstage placement integrity of any tube I have tried, I also find that the high frequencies are rolled off. They also seem to lack PRAT - there doesn't seem to be much life in the music. They also lack in bass.
I had them in the system for about 6 hours and have swapped them out in favour of the RCA 12BH7A valves. I will at some point try them again - perhaps they require further running in. I doubt they will change much though. Anybody know how long they take to run in?
BTW the rest of my system is solid state and I suspect on the bright side so I don't think that's why the Teles sound dull.
