Most if not all the power strips are wired. I have taken a few apart and all were like this. My Belkin 10 outlet is wired like that, The Shunyata Hydra, and the iFi Power Station just to name a few.
Also the comments about the screw that holds the outlet, it seems more robust than of the standard outlets, maybe due to not having the two screw type. Again, most of the power strips I have and at work only have the one screw holding the outlet in place.
The Outlets I use are tight but those screws in the middle were tighten securely and when I was plugging in the power cord I was watching for any flexing from pushing the plug in. The top cover is thick aluminum. I may still come up with some support but I have no plans of constantly pulling the plugs in and out. I'm good with the types of power cords/plug I have so once in they will not be moving in and out.
To address the comment/s some others made about them thinking I used two piece wire on the ground screw is not true. I used one one piece of wire and wrapped it around the screw til it touched the other side of the bare wire. This is like that all the way through to the outlet. I was looking at a copper bar for the grounding for each of the grounds for the outlets but its working well and not ground loop for now.
The power strip is for only FRONT END gear so no stress will be put on the other outlets due to the way it is wired. I only have the Furman P1800 AR power conditioner plugged into this outlet buss and two iFi AC purifiers that's it. Everything else is plugged into the Furman and the Furman is plugged into the First outlet from the power cord entry.
