Good morning Aspheric,
It's nice to on occasion know that I wasn't just hearing thing?, as I've mentioned these usb cables to many of my closest friends, and while many have reported back my findings were in fact true..., a few of them have remained hesitant due to their biases against anything based upon pure silver, or silver plating, stating a preference towards copper.
Yet knowing the sonic signature of several of their DACs | which to my mind lacks detail as well as resolution, I've tried my best to explain as plainly as possible how one can alter the sound of an overly lackluster DAC, by the use of both said metal types, or plating. And admittedly I'm well aware there are times where I get a bit detached as you've pointed out | I've always been more of the long-winged | slightly more detailed type in what I hear, which can at times become much like Lummy's article about his college days, and while I dare not travel back as far in time, I'll on occasion mention how so much has changed sonically speaking as how the switch between tube amplification starting to sound more solid state in nature around 1995, as well as how the signature of many solid state brands became more tube sounding around this same period, and so on.
Yet at the end of the day, I do believe there are times when generalizations are in order, and while I'm aware we all have different preferences in music | systems | how we listen | what we listen for, and to varies, yet musicality when done correctly, from a purely balanced perspective, it's then it needs to be shared.
Said usb cables are more than worthy of any music lover ( notice I didn't say someone that likes listening to gear or boxes, as some have forgotten why we came to be passionate about our shared hobby to begin with was the enjoyment of music ) which is why I've never had to listen through any type of burn in process and luckily have learned ( re-learned if you will ) to upon installing any given item into my system been able to focus only on the music, and therefore only hear what was there off the bat, and while certain aspects would become better focused or calmer, the sound remained as I initially heard it. No golden ears required, but once again having taken the time to re-learn how to connect to the actual music goes a long ways in restoring one's balance in life itself.
