To each their own I guess, and I would think that if vibrations is a concern for cables then others would have their version of dampened cables. But others are shedding insulation material, shields, etc. to make the cables lighter.

I was also amused when looking at the boa constrictor sized interconnect offerings from Tara Labs, and those MIT cables that have boxes the size of components.
