In general, yes. With my regular system I have found that connections between certain components are very sensitive to which cable is in use. My primary components and speakers are quite good at detail retrieval which means they extract both the good and bad from a recording, including brightness from certain digital ones. The Oval-In ameliorates that to some extent, but not necessarily on the sources where I find a more revealing cable such as the Solo Crystals better, then further down the chain, such as between the preamp and amp, the Oval-Ins fit in better.
Because my amp, preamp, and a speaker are currently being serviced, my comments above reflect the separates I just mentioned. While they're being serviced I am temporarily using my Harman Kardon receiver, tube buffer, and budget Klipsch speakers and find the Solo Crystals fit best with it. It again proves the point that cables are system dependent which is why I don't like to sell or get rid of too many.
