how does the source component send / generate the balanced signal?
How does the receiving component handle the incoming signal?

really? - you have 50' runs of cable between components?

I am not convinced that for the home based audiophile balances signals are necessary -

but good shielded ICs with continuous connections between signal and ground = end to end is a minimum starting point....
