There is no question that a heaver gauge wire improves or increases instrument body. Stranded wire is also considered by many to be warmer in general than solid. Both may or do have their pros and cons depending on the listener... Take the exact same wire strand size and make it 24 gauge and watch the instruments shrink in size.
