After posting a query awhile back and receiving some input, I decided to order a .7 meter pair direct from Japan and give these a try as their materials and design seemed intriguing, speculatively lending themselves to good sound. Because of the dearth of professional reviews and limited consumer ones, I will post my early experience here and list the impressions I take from these interconnects. The price listed is the US retail, but at the time I purchased, could be had for less than $200 when ordering from Japan.

First, a brief overview of where I installed them and some of my equipment. My preamp is a Manley Shrimp and amplifier is a Rogue Atlas Magnum. Between the two, I have installed aMusical Fidelity tube buffer. Speaker cables are Acoustic Zen Satori and speakers are Vienna Acoustic Haydn Grands. I inserted these cables in three different locations: Between preamp and tuber buffer (primary), DAC to preamp, and phono stage to preamp. For the most part, the results were very similar, although my primary intent was to use them between the preamp and tube buffer. Just a note on their connectors: a screw down type similar to WBT connectors. They can be a bit tricky to deal with as they do make a tight connection. Other interconnects from sources to preamp are Wireworld Eclipse 7 and Audioquest Jaguar.

The Oyaide Tunami Terzo RR v2's characteristics are a bit challenging to describe accurately as it is different than most typical cables as it has a unique mixture of strengths and weaknesses. As far as various aspects go, I'll try to breakdown as follows:

Treble - This is one of this cable's strengths. Highs are very smooth and extended without a sense of stridence. This was true across the board with both violins, flutes, and female vocals.

Bass - Somewhat disappointing in this vein. Compared to other cables I own, the bass lacked the heft and slam that is generally sought after in high end cables.

Soundstage Width - Very good in this regard. Comparable to most any other cable I've ever used as images of instruments expanded beyond the boundaries of the speakers.

Soundstage Depth - Unfortunately, another shortcoming. This is one area that I focus in on and seek in all of my system components. Relative to most cables I've used, the front to back was somewhat compressed and flatter than desired. Better than the freebie wires or basic entry level offerings, but not by much.

Imaging - Okay, but not great for center stage vocalists. Individual instruments seemed to fare better in this regard. Generally a very clear and transparent presentation.

After listening to these for a few weeks, I decided to pull out a pair of Audioquest Columbias and install them between the preamp and buffer. My primary reservation with the Columbias has always been a slight lack of transparency. However, in this configuration, not only did they offer the smooth treble and deeper soundstage, but very good clarity as well. I was somewhat surprised, but this again goes to show that cables can be a funky thing and perform not only differently in different systems, but differently with other components in the same system.

In conclusion, my findings on the Tunami Terzo RR v2 interconnects are that it is a decent performer that has quality attributes along with some shortcomings. As with any cable, the system compatibility factor will be a major consideration.

Product Weakness: Bass weight and soundstage depth.
Product Strengths: Soundstage width, smooth treble.
