hi folks,

i would like to try something new in my TW Raven 10,5" tonearm. I was thinking of a Lyra "Delos" as a very good all-round system for a reasonable price. a buddy recommends to consider the ZYX "Ultimate Exceed 100" as a notable alternative. i have to add that the ZYX is offered to me at a really good price!

does anyone know both carts and can give a clear recommendation.

thank you!

N experience with the Lyra but I recommend the Zyx. I think it is a very neutral cart so if that's not what you're looking for, keep looking. It is an excellent tracker.

thank you guys!

i am actually running a Dynavector Te Kaitora Rua. of course this cart performs in another league and i will surely keep it!

but i am in the mood for trying something different every now and then for less money - just plug and play and have fun. many people recommend the Delos but a few recommend ZYX.
one reads that the Delos plays more on the warm side while the ZYX performs more neutrally...

I had two Lyra Delos and now have a Kleos.
The Delos is a great cartridge. I would say it is on the "sharper" side of neutral, transients jump out, and dynamics (micro and macro) are great. Very lively sounding, definitely not a "warm" sounding cartridge. If your system could use a little more excitement, the Delos is the ticket. And extremely quiet in the groove.
The Kleos is similar, but just a little smoother and more detailed, and a little quieter in the groove. I have no experience with ZYX.
