I have an NAD amp with a working power supply. I would like to use it for a Pass F5 first watt DIY project. But it's voltage is 80vDC and I need to drop it to 24vDC.

Would it be advisable to use it by adding voltage dropping resistors. Would you put the resistors just after the bridge rectifier or after the filter caps?

Added resistance will cause the power supply voltage to be very unregulated.

It would be best to get a power supply with the proper voltage to start with.
