My speaker cables are different lengths, 13 and 18 feet, L-R.
I have done some calcs and discovered that I can match cable resistance
by using 3 strands of 14 awg on the shorter run and using 4 strands of 14 awg on the longer run.
Thoughts on this.
I am wondering about capacitance...and all the other nuances of cabling....
thanks for your input.
tweak I must...

I'd leave well enough alone. You'll never hear a difference at the lengths you mention.(13' and 18') Now if an opportunity pops up in the future to shorten the 18'run to match the 13'run, I'd go for it. This more for peace of mind as once again, I doubt you'd hear a difference.

Differences will be infinitesimal and probably inaudible . . . , posted on June 19, 2024 at 15:59:56

thanks for the advice....
Right now the Positive speaker input is Brand 1 of 14 awg, and the negative speaker input is brand 2 of 14 awg.
I have new wire on order of Brand 3 that is 14 awg, enough for both, Positive and Negative runs.
My electronics are in adjacent room with the speaker wire running thru a wall, thus the different cable lengths.
Should I make both speaker cables the same length and coil the excess of the shorter cable side?
thanks....

I would never coil any type of signal cable, but make big open loops.
berate is 8 and benign is 9

I am thinking an "s' shape....
thanks, good idea to increase the length to make cables the same......

I agree with madisonears below. Equal lengths, big loops with no "tight" coils.

Equipment rack off to one side, can't go in the middle, unfortunately.
No audible problem.
Quite the opposite!
Probably sounds Better that way...

I agree, nothing sitting between the speakers.....
turntABLE BEING IN NEXT ROOM OVER IS ISOLATED FROM SPEAKERS.... a good thing.
