I haven't seen this announced here. The following message was posted at Audiophile Style by a company representative:

"All community members it's for everyone's information, well known ALLO products such as Digione Signature, Digione, Boss DAC, Miniboss DAC, Shanti LPS and Nirvana SMPS are ready to ship now. As you all know ALLO has stopped operations after covid and we the team ALLO in India lost the jobs. Now we the team of Ex-ALLO employees in Bangalore, India are ready to re-launch the products and started working on the upgrades as well. We will be offering the after sales support and service as well through dedicated team."

Best Regards....... Team Rabas

I have their Boss DAC (HAT) and the DigiOne SPDIF (HAT) for the older Raspberry Pi 3's that I own. With the USB improvements in the Raspberry Pi 4 I just drive my DACs directly from the RPi4 USB port.

Hope the new Allo succeeds.

Cool but wasn't all the design work done elsewhere? France and maybe elsewhere?

Not the same Allo, just resurrected manufacturing, posted on July 10, 2024 at 09:39:04

Good question. I found this on ALLO's old website which is still up:

- ALLO has over 20 years experience in manufacturing and PCB design.
- R&D, engineering facility based in EPIP Industrial Area, Whitefield Bangalore, India.
- Manufacturing plant based in Electronic City, Bangalore, India.
- Audio products design core team based in Toulouse, France.

India Corporate Address:
ADARSH ECO PLACE
#176, Ground Floor
EPIP INDUSTRIAL Area
Whitefield, Bangalore-66
India

Canada Corporate Address
300-1275 West 6th Ave.
Vancouver, BC V6H 1A6

The same addresses appear on their new website for Rabas Technology at https://rabas.in/ . After browsing the Rabas website they appear to be primarily a manufacturing company that picked up the ALLO pieces when ALLO imploded. Not a bad side gig selling resurrected products since the R&D expense is long out of the equation.

Rabas also shows a UK address but I didn't see any mention of a French location or design team.

Isolation of the USB ports with the RPi4 effectively rendered that product obsolete for future purchases as far as I'm concerned.

Agree. The RPi4 pretty much eliminated the need for those SPDIF 'HATS' from Allo and others. I prefer my RPi4 to be bare bones with no 'HATS' driving my outboard DAC directly over USB. Unlike the RPi3 the RPi4 is extremely reliable over USB and sounds great.

They make a lot of products; DACs, digital transports, amps, power supplies. I don't own any Allo products, but they have a very good reputation and more competition is always good. I'm glad they're back.

I would opt for the Rpi #5, if you 'Needed' an Rpi ...................., posted on July 12, 2024 at 08:18:50

I say this because of the increased speed and the fact that it runs about 10 degrees cooler than the Rpi #4. No need to replace existing Rpi #4s however.
